Paulo Gomes, MSHS,CAIS
Principal Consultant, Founder
Paulo has been a strategic leader and business growth executive for 15 years. He is the founder and principal consultant of Healthcare & Human Service (H&HS) Consulting Group. Prior to this, he held leadership roles in the hospital industry in Massachusetts, in particular overseeing Community Health Departments. He has provided oversight on various system-wide Health IT (EHR), Data Analytics, Research, and Care Improvement demonstration projects, as well as program partnerships with the Department of Public Health (DPH) on the development of the Affordable Care Organizations (ACO) and Community Health Worker programs. He has provided oversight on multi-million-dollar projects and raised well over 1 million dollars in grant funding for past clients. He has led various public health research projects and authored over 12 publicly released research reports in partnership with MA community hospitals.
He has overseen the development of mental health and public safety curriculums and guided numerous organizations through strategic planning while implementing contracting and operational expansion projects of health and human service clients. Paulo has worked through the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School-Commonwealth Medicine, Massachusetts Adult Health Education Centers (MassAHEC) Network as an Assistant Director. While there, he authored “Consumer Engagement in the MA Patient-Centered Medical Home, the Role of AHEC-SE” in the Journal of the National AHEC Organization (2012), highlighting the innovative work being done in Massachusetts to advance quality patient care for which AHEC-SE was awarded the National AHEC Organization Center of Excellence Award. Paulo continues to provide oversight on various partnerships.
He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Boston with a B.A. double major in Psychology and Sociology (2006) and earned his Master of Science in Human Services with a focus on Organizational Management in (2010). He received a Certification as an Artificial Intelligence Specialist (CAIS) in 2024 and completed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy Executive Education Course.
Dr. Daphne Remy Gomes has been a practicing physician and educator for 18 years. Her work includes developing educational activities related to neonatal resuscitation skills and medical team training strategies for residents, fellows, and community members. She also serves as an instructor of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program. In addition to clinical practice and simulation medicine, she was a participant in global health initiatives through the Human Resources for Health in the Republic of Rwanda, working closely with the Ministry of Health. She also serves as an advisory board member for the Blue Butterfly Collaborative, a group of media professionals spearheading a Haitian Children’s Media Project entitled “Lakou Kajou”.
Dr. Remy Gomes is a first-generation Haitian-American who has close familial and cultural ties to Haiti, her parents’ birth country. Her most recent substantive time in Haiti has been during mission trips with the National Organization for the Advancement of Haiti (NOAH) and Sean Penn’s J/P Haitian Relief Organization for the earthquake relief efforts. Dr. Remy Gomes is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and serves as a Vice President and Program Chair for the Psi Iota Omega chapter, whose service catchment area is Southeastern Massachusetts and Islands.
She continues to practice and is a faculty neonatology attending physician at the Boston Children’s Hospital and affiliated institutions in the Division of Neonatology. As of May 1, 2016, she has served as the Neonatology Executive Director of the Southcoast Health System, a three-hospital system serving Southeastern Massachusetts.
Dr. Remy Gomes received her medical degree from UMDNJ- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Piscataway, New Jersey. She completed a general pediatric residency at North Shore-Long Island Health Jewish Hospital Systems and a neonatal fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Remy Gomes also completed a Master of Public Health with a Maternal-Child Health Concentration as well as the inaugural Leadership Concentration at the Harvard School of Public Health. She is Board-certified in General Pediatrics and Neonatology.

Ben Ethier, MS

Ben is an experienced data analyst with a demonstrated history working in the healthcare and non-profit fields. He has been a consultant at H&HS Consulting Group since 2018 starting as a research associate, and quickly rising through the ranks to Senior Consultant. He leads grant writing and data reporting projects including Community Health Needs Assessments (CHNAs), Determination of Needs (DoN) projects, and governmental annual reports. He is experienced in the manipulation and analysis of large datasets, the application of statistical analyses, and the creation of business intelligence dashboards. Ben supports projects through project management, development of surveys, data analysis, and proposal writing.
Outside of his work at H&HS Consulting Group, Ben has worked with the Boston Children’s Hospital Department of Pediatrics Quality and Safety team to analyze large patient datasets with the goal of improving quality of care throughout the hospital. He has co-authored numerous quality and safety publications in addition to being lead author of a paper in the public health space. Ben holds a Master’s degree in Exercise Science with an emphasis on health promotion from the University of Massachusetts Boston, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
